3/9, Fused Tiger Lily Plate Class

3/9, Fused Tiger Lily Plate Class

Date: Saturday, March 9th, 9:30-2:30pm

Glass cutting experience is very helpful!

This class incorporates many different techniques.  You will start out by cutting two circles, one slightly smaller than the other one.  When stacked the larger circle provides a colorful rim to your plate.

Next you will copy the flower pattern onto your chosen glass and cut out the pieces and grind as necessary.  You will then stack the flower petals in several overlapping layers and tack in place.

You will heat and bend stringers to make stamens and add some cut glass to finish them.  You will add some frit for shadowing.

You can add hooks for hanging if you prefer.  We will then fire your flower flat or slump it into a plate shape if you wish.

Cost includes clear base glass, stringers, frit, two firings and lunch.  You will need to purchase glass for your plate.

Bring:  glass cutting tools, if you have them and glasses. No shorts or open-toed shoes.
