9/5, Unique Candleholder Class--Fusing Fun

37.00

Date: Tuesday, Sept 5th, 10-12:30 pm or 5-7:30 pm

No experience is necessary!

In this class you will want to bring your imagination with you to create this unique candle holder; while there is a specific size for this project, there is no set pattern and no two candleholders will be alike.

You will build your two-sized candleholder using 2 pieces of clear base glass; you will then add a layer of colored glass and decorate the top surface by using vitrograph glass that was made in the store.  This glass has unique characteristics due to the uncontrolled bends and thickness of the stringer-like glass. You can learn how to make dots using the vitrograph glass.

Your candle holder will be fired using a full fuse. Then it will be fired again over a curved form.  After the project has been fired, we will help you turn it into a candleholder.

Cost includes clear base glass, vitrograph stringers (curved and bent stringers) and 2 kiln firing.  You will need to purchase the top layer of glass.

Bring:  your glass cutting tools, if you have them and safety glasses, if you don’t already wear glasses.  No shorts or open-toed shoes.
